While Linda Pitner had been very successful working for a non-profit as well as for-profit businesses, personal experience led her to join Newman Long Term Care as an LTCI Specialist.
Linda's mother passed away in 1991 after a diagnosis of terminal cancer. Linda was her sole caregiver for almost one year. Linda's mother had no financial resources to assist with her own care. At that time, Linda was beginning a new management position and was the single mother of 2 small sons. The experience was beyond difficult as Linda juggled a new job, her young children, and the care of her dying mother.
Since January of 2008, Linda has been providing wound care solutions in nursing homes. In the course of her duties she witnessed the care given to nursing home residents. She found an understanding that "some care is great and some not so great". Linda's experience is that many residents give up most - and sometimes all - of their assets, income, independence, dignity and privacy, as well as a general quality of life.
After her true-life education with health and long term care, Linda realized that not only did she not understand the options for long term care, but she was certain she did not want to become a burden to her husband, children or grandchildren. Linda also realized that many others were uninformed or confused about their care options. She then decided to become a licensed insurance representative and set her goals to educate, inform and deliver solutions for long term care to others.
Linda chose to affiliate with Newman Long Term Care because we offer our clients the highest level of information, service and support.
