Paul Daugs joined Newman Long Term Care in 2007 to help develop our Business Alliance program. In June 2009 Paul became our Multi-Life LTCI Specialist where he played a key role in developing and implementing a proven process for multi-life sales. Paul is the internal wholesaler assigned to several of our key broker-dealer accounts.
As a Multi-Life LTCI Specialist, Paul works closely with brokers and businesses to solve their long term care needs. He works through both our Brokerage and Business Alliance channels, as well as doing direct-to-employer marketing. Paul's expertise lies in knowing the details of each carrier's products and understanding their sweet-spots which aids in selecting the best solution for clients. Paul is available for joint appointments with brokers to help show clients the need for this product in their portfolio, and to help guide them through our multi-life case process. Paul shepherds each multi-life case from the initial discussion with the employer, to case design, employer presentations, and through the enrollment process.
Paul is actively involved in educating the insurance and financial advisor communities on multi-life long term care insurance. Paul is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) and the Minnesota Association of Health Underwriters (MAHU). He served as Secretary on the board for the Young Insurance Professionals (YIP), where he still assists in member recruiting and marketing. Paul has presented Continuing Education sessions on Multi-Life LTCI for several NAIFA-Minnesota chapters. An article that Paul authored on Multi-Life LTCI was published in the 2010 Producer's Guide to Long Term Care Awareness Month and Agent's Sales Journal.
Paul came to Newman Long Term Care from the Minnesota Trucking Association (MTA) where he managed a government funded program called Highway Watch®. He spent most of his time recruiting trucking companies' safety directors to join the program and train their drivers. Before the MTA, Paul worked in retail sales and time-share sales. Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Metropolitan State University.
