Looking for a feel-good project for the holidays? Be a Santa to a Senior

Special Christmas trees with special requests have been appearing in many different communities. Specifically, these special trees can be found in Starbucks, Lunds and Byerly’s, Walgreens, Roundbank, Home Instead Senior Care, and many other businesses. The tree is full of paper ornaments that have gift requests written on them from their residents. An individual can take an ornament, buy the gift that is requested, and then hand-deliver the gift to the senior citizen who requested it.

For some of the residents, the holidays can be lonely. Although giving gifts to seniors can bring them great joy, they are really looking for a friend. Participants in the “Be a Santa to a Senior Program” say they are filled with gratification after getting to know and giving to a senior in need of a friend.

The deadline to purchase a gift for this program is December 14th. If you are interested in participating, be sure to check out the participating businesses in your area where these special trees can be found by clicking here.
